We began our day today with chapel. Pastor Andy talked to us about sin and how Jesus will always forgive us, when we ask Him for forgiveness.

One of our friends was recognized during chapel today for her ability to share God's love. Great job E!

 

We enjoyed some free choice time after snack today. We are continuing to work on our provocation: Can You Make a Vehicle?

Provocations are experiences I set-up in response to children’s interests and ideas. When I set up a provocation, I am providing hands-on exploration for children to practice, test, construct and deconstruct their ideas and theories.

I set up a provocation and listen. I engage in the children's thinking. It is my thread to lead us onward.

A provocation will PROVOKE thinking! 

Focus and attention are the keys to developing strong pathways in the brain. Powerful provocations give children opportunities to attend to the world of ideas and concepts with incredible focus and attention.


 






We enjoyed some outside time today as well. We had beautiful sunny weather today. 











One our friends ran up to me and said she made a cross in the mulch.

 We have had a fantastic first day of school. This morning we worked on our fine motor drawers and did our morning meeting and Jesus Time. We also began learning all of our friends' names. We had chapel today as well. We learned how God is the vine and we are the branches. As long as we are connected to Jesus and the word, we will be able to do anything that is put in front of us.

 Today we began with Jesus Time once again. We reviewed the story of Jesus dying on the cross, and how our sins were washed away by His sacrifice.  We also worked together to build a cross with blocks. We learned about all of our special places in Jesus' family, and how when we work together it makes Jesus happy. We had so much fun outside this morning. We played tag, duck-duck- goose and had a blast on the swings. We also went on a scavenger hunt today to find different materials to make a collage tomorrow. We also had our last library time of the year today.
